Information

The article Merino comes from a producer who sources his wool/raw material from South America and Australia from mulesing-free production. In China, it is processed with a great deal of expertise and care to ensure consistently high quality.

Merino is a high-quality boiled wool made from pure wool (merino wool). During production, the wool fabric is compacted under heat and movement, creating a compact, dimensionally stable structure. At the same time, the quality remains pleasantly soft, slightly elastic and supple to the touch. The particularly fine merino fibres are significantly thinner than classic virgin wool and ensure high wearing comfort – even in direct contact with the skin. Also ideal for hats and loops and all models that are worn directly on the skin. The boiled wool is warm, breathable and temperature-regulating without feeling heavy. It offers protection from the cold, is hard-wearing and durable, and is easy to work with. This lighter boiled wool is colour-coordinated with the Naomi and Naomi-melange items and is a great addition if you are looking for a slightly lighter material for tops, boiled wool overalls, jackets, hats, scarves and more!

Uses: Boiled merino wool is ideal for warm yet lightweight garments. This fabric is particularly popular for jackets, coats, waistcoats, boiled wool overalls and jumpsuits – for both adults and children. Jumpers, cardigans and textured tops also benefit from the stable yet soft properties of this material. The fabric is also excellent for accessories: hats, loops, scarves, headbands, wrist warmers and hand warmers are given pleasant warmth and dimensional stability by the boiled merino wool. It can also be used to make slippers or cosy homewear projects. This makes merino a versatile fabric for functional and fashionable sewing projects in the autumn and winter seasons, but also throughout the year.
